I love to kick the NYT as often as I can, but to be fair I can see an argument that making the ALCS should not qualify as a disappointment. Getting knocked out in the ALDS should.

The NYT is part of the Red Sox ownership group, and has been a relentless Mets booster all year, so if you’re claiming some kind of bias here, I think you’re WAY off base!
No charges of bias at all. Just charges of questionable interpretations of reality.
Not sure where this should go, but this wins the award for Most Unconvincing Statement of the Year:
“I want to believe that, yes, as far as I’m concerned, Alex Rodriguez is one of the important pieces to this puzzle here,” Torre said.
Wait, so you don’t believe that? You just want to? As far as you’re concerned? What about Steinbrenner (with whom you conveniently just got off the phone)?
