It’ a pretty day, but we know you’re gonna be home watching tv all day, flicking between our Yanks and the team that once shared their stadium. It’s Snyder vs. Wright in the Bronx. And, yeah, the streak continues. Comment on the action right here.

TD for Toomer and the Yanks haven’t even begun! Good start to the day.
So much for the good starts. Murphy gets his first dinger off of right. Everyone going long right off the bat today.
Feh.
Murphy takes Wright yard for his first MLB home run.
Not exactly the A lineups there for the Yanks.
Wright walks Ortiz.
Now Youk singles to right. Wright: not sharp.
Yeah, 1 through 5 looks good, and then, well, ahem.
I’m watching NeSN and it is 2-2 count on Papi. What are you guys watching?
Nixon two feet foul up the left field line from a double that would have scored at least one.
Wright just not helping his 4th-starter-in-the-playoffs chances here. Cory Lidle must be smiling a bit inside.
NESN. Nixon down on strikes swinging.
Kapler to Cano 4-3 to end the inning.
Well, my NESN is way slower than yours.
I’m watching NESN on DirecTV; don’t know if that makes a difference.
ArroyoSnyder starts off with a strike to Damon, then misses. Johnny takes ball two just a bit inside. The next pitch is popped to Youk just foul. One away.Melky robbed on an appeal to third on a full count check swing at a pitch in the dirt. Horrible call; he didn’t offer.
Cano hits the ball through Cora’s legs for E4.
Snyder starts with two breaking balls against ARod, both for strikes. The 0-2 is a high fastball popped to right to end the inning. Kid’s curve is really snapping today.
Snyder just escaped a bases-loaded, no-outs jam with a flyout to foul territory, then two strikeouts (the last of Damon). Pretty cool.
After consecutive singles from Matsui, Guiel, and Wilson, Nick Green fouls out, Fasano Ks, and Damon ks to strand three runners, wasting a fine opportunity to blow this game open.
Devine and I have a slightly different interpretation of the results of the Yankee 4th inning. :)
one thing we can all agree on: this Sox lineup is horrible.
Yep, horrifically bad.
#49 for the big man. Tie game.
Except for Papi of course. PAPI!!!
Closing in on Jimmy Foxx. A bright spot.
Pretty good day for Wright after the rocky start.
Bryan Corey’s gamecast photo looks like Wallace from Wallace&Gromit.
Dustin!
A lengthy AB by Loretta leads to a 2-out double by Pedroia. One run in, and Ortiz will bat.
Or not, as the Yankees will IBB the guy. It’ll be Youkilis.
w00t!! 3-run double YOUK! Ortiz must have been winded at the end of that play.
So 6-2 Sox after 6 and a half.
Corey wants to give it back with a single and a 4-pitch walk to start the inning.
Foulke in, 1st and 3rd, 1 out, A-Rod.
Damon in on the sac fly. 2 out, runner at 1st, Matsui.
6-3 after 7.
TD TOOMER!!!!!!!
Hey New Englanders,
What would be worse; the Yanks coming back to win this game and then winning the next to clinch, or the Pats losing to the Jets later today?
Who are these Pats and Jets you speak of?
Only kidding. Besides not watching football, I’m not qualified to comment as I’m not a New Englander anyway.
Abreu singles with 1 out.
DP Bernie Williams. 3-run lead for the Sox going into the 9th.
These Yanks aren’t coming back today Devine. Where the hell was this Foulke when the Sox needed him this year? He looks efficient.
Where the hell was this effort a month ago when this was a race?
Top half of the inning ends with Ortiz popping out to Cannizaro…so…who is that exactly?
3-run lead. Hold on, Timlin.
No clinch this weekend. I’ve gotten all I could ask for.
Agree…and the Pats lead the Jets 7-0.
Congrats Sox fans. One more game and the 2006 “Snake v. Mongoose” is over.
And game….Sox 6-3
LOL BY…..I like that analogy
YF, if you’re out there, this Giants game is off the hook!!!
Wow, what a pathetic second half from the Eagles. Watched the entire game and the Giants had no business winning that game but for the Eagles crawling into a hole like a bunch of cowards, failing to make even basic plays which would have sealed the game. Thank god I don’t root for that team.
Heh…I see I made the right choice by spending the day chilling in Central Park (a la A-Rod, but with the shirt on!). Wright had another solid outing, so far as I can tell, shame he didn’t get the W.
Villone is cooked, isn’t he?
Looks like I picked a good day to go to the office and miss this game after the fourth.
Now to finish work, find a comfy seat somewhere and watch the second game.
