would certainly be nice to sweep the O’s today!
bah, Patriot Day = forgot to set the roster for fantasy baseball..
SHIT, so did I.
Three infield outs from Masterson. Me likey.
I’m calling it now, Ellsbury’s meteoric rise to win the 2009 batting title begins now.
Papi with EBH No. 2, although sounds like if should have been an out as Freel quit on it.
Excellent piece of hitting from Pedro, nails a low, outside pitch to center and scores Ells. 1-0 Sox.
Stolen base, Pedroia singles him in, and then a double from Papi?

IBM, you are way ahead of MLBtv! Ortiz is still up!
Freel veered off, but it was the right play IBM, he had no shot at it.
Good piece of hitting from Papi, going with the pitch.
Yook walks. Bases loaded. Rocco looks for his first RBI.
Okay seriously, why is Baldelli batting 5th instead of Bay? I can let it slide once from Francona, but Bay > Baldelli.
Maybe he’s going for alphabetization?
Rocco drives in Pedro, avoids the DP. 2-0.
Youk walks, bases full of Sox with nobody out. Cash in!
Ok, this isn’t going to work. You guys are way ahead of me.
Baldelli grounds out, scores a run. Bay’s OPS is LITERALLY twice as high as Baldelli’s right now.
I don’t get Baldelli fifth either.
Baldelli drives in a run, Bay pops out. There’s your answer, ath. :)
I’m heading to a meeting in a few, so you’ll be spoiler-free for a bit SF.
I’ve got the radio feed on gameday.
SF, do you want me to stop posting plays before they pop up on gamebay?
Any of our regulars running the marathon today?
Wow, bases loaded with no outs and we only get one run out of it. At least Ellsbury/Ortiz are looking good now.
See you guys after lunch.
Gamebay. That’s a nice typo. ;P
Well, good result, not great. Would have liked at least three there with the sacks full and nobody out and someone already plated. Still, a lead!
Nah, no biggie IBM, I will be in and out of the thread, keep at it!
K for JM. One down.
Hey, how do the White Sox beat the snot out of Tampa down there but Tampa beats our guys 2 of 3 in Fenway? Methinks this Tampa team might be a bit psychotic this year.
Solid inning from Masterson there.
Two-out walk for Masterson, but he gets out of it. 28 pitches through two.
Joe and Obie saying that Hendrickson used to play in the NBA.
TEK!!
Our home run leader.
Into the Monster seats!
3-0!
Tek!! Bombs away!
Superb swing from Tek there (not exactly a brilliant observation). He really got on that pitch.
Pickoff at second gone awry, man down! Freel in serious pain. Looks like he got hit by the ball square on the side of the helmet. Hope he is ok, he’s really in pain.
Masterson appears to be laboring a bit.
And he gets out of it.
OK. I gotta go check in on a murder trial.
Papi’s “streak” shortlived, another K.
1/3, two down for Lowell.
Whiff.
Baldelli left the game with a leg injury.
My guess is his hammy is still acting up, which is why he hasn’t played much lately. Carter moves into right.
Masterson through 5. He’s hitting 94 on the NESN gun, and the ball is moving nicely. He’s doing a great job today.
Pedro with a leadoff double high off the wall.
Pedro doubles, Papi pops out, Yooks gets INT walk and Chris Carter up next.
Baldelli tweaked the hammy running to third on an error.
Papi pops to short left. Still worried.
Justin at 73 pitches after 5? Excellent!
Carter called out on a pitch outside. Seriously, Bay needs to bat 5th when Drew is out.
Carter Ks.
I smell a Bay HR here.
Crap.
I’m surprised JM is still hitting 96 with his fastball. I didn’t think he could do that as a starter.
Two more men left on base, including the leadoff double. Bad.
Long at-bat and Masterson is out. Delcarmen in.
It’s been interesting seeing them use Delcarmen as middle-relief instead of as the setup man this season. Especially considering how well he’s done so far, compared to Saito or Okajima.
Seems you guys should be having a Joba-type debate with Masterson. The kid can pitch. Back to my critique of your off-season: The arms signed blocked better ones and the offense signed didn’t do enough to fill-in the gaps.
Spot of trouble here after Green botches a grounder. 1/2, 1 out, Delcarmen in for Masterson…
and there’s the DP! Well done, Manny!
Varitek’s .977 OPS drinks your milkshake.
Rob, when everyone is healthy, we really don’t need Masterson in the rotation.
Ells singles up the middle, 2 on, 2 out; would be a nice spot for Pedro to keep that average climbing.
Ellsbury’s avg. climbing, too.
RBI single for Pedroia. 4-1.
Look out, AL. Pedro’s warming up.
Everyone, now.
PA-PI! PA-PI! PA-PI!
PAPI!!!
A two-RBI TRIPLE off the CF wall!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
Seems you guys should be having a Joba-type debate with Masterson
________
Or, we could leave all the debates, DUI’s, and drama in NY. hahah:)
Pie didn’t play the ricochet well.
Youks walks again. Carter with another RBI chance.
Triple from Papi? Me likey.
Ellsbury/Pedroia/Ortiz today: 7 for 12, 4 runs, 4 RBI.
Carter Ks again. Weak AB.
But a 3-run inning.
Is Papi finally coming around?
If Papi came get one more hit, his average will rise above .200. …
Also, Ath, Youks was walked 3 times.
Radhames Liz, with a 36.00 ERA and truely awful career numbers against the Sox, is now pitching for Baltimore.
Bay leads off with his AL-leading 15th BB.
Lowell RBI double. 7-1.
Holy crap, that’s a nice stat IBM. And if they want to walk Youk 3 times per game, I’m totally cool with that.
Lowell joins in on the rape-Baltimore party with a double of his own.
Nick Green contributes by getting HBP. We’ll take it.

I just wanted to point out that I said this at the beginning of the game. Ellsbury singles again, three hits in the game. Last year he had 11 games with three or more hits. Three of those were against Baltimore.
3 runs in.
Ortiz plunked.
Sacks packed for Youks; pitching change.
Kevin “I don’t want a 4th walk I want a HIT” Youkilis, your 2009 MVP.
Youks with a flukey single; Carter sac fly. 11-1.
Radhames Liz has allowed 10 ER in 1.1 IP this season;
contribute your Yankee pitching joke here.
Okay, now that we’re winning 12-1 I think it’s safe to bring in Daisuke or Penny.
Hunter Jones makes his ML debut for the Red Sox.
And it’s a 4-game sweep.
12-1. Sox now over .500 and have won five straight.
Uh oh, Sox tied for 2nd place with the Yankees. Pressures on you guys tonight!
Man, what a huge difference in the offense when Jacoby’s hitting. That leadoff spot is so key… Pedroia coming back to life doesn’t hurt either. :)
