Salvaging the Series: Sox-A’s Gamer IV

Curt Schilling and David Ortiz reminded the Red Sox last night that these are the A’s, not the Yankees or the White Sox. Now Bronson Arroyo Kyle Snyder tries to recapture the lightning he found last time and pull off a second improbable win and save a series split. The A’s counter with Joe Blanton, whose ERA isn’t that great (4.95), but remember this — it’s better than Josh Becektt’s.

I predict a breakout game from the Sox offense and a serviceable five innings from Snyder. Why? Because that would be fun. And a two-game winning streak heading into a series with the Royals is a ticket to maintaining a hold on first place through the rest of the week.

  • Not a whole lot of posting going on it would seem.

  • The White Sox are getting beat again in Ny. Seems like they cannot put the bat on the ball.

  • I wonder if we are going to see a bean ball war start. The A’s talked a lot of trash after yesterdays game.

  • Snyder looks like he is doing pretty good. He has 3 K’s in 2.1 to go with only two hits and no BBs.

  • Now 4k’s. His ERA is dropping pretty quickly also.

  • What was Snyder’s ERA to start?

  • Sorry, stepped away for a few minutes. I believe Snyder’s ERA was around 10 to start the game.

  • Looks like Snyder is trying to work his way out of a bases loaded jam.

  • Seanez in to stop the bleeding.

  • Headed to the mound: Rudy “Meatball Express” Seanez.

    Rob July 16, 2006, 3:37 pm
  • This is crap. Seanez comes in and gives up a RBI Single. All four pitches in roughly the same spot.

  • Alex Gonzalez??? Holy hell.

  • Final in NY: Yanks 6, ChiSox 4. C’mon, Oaktown! :)

  • This is disgusting. We made the A’s look like the have a potent offense. Maybe we need to have another one of those “player only” meetings and get some crap worked out.

  • Well, I can’t even describe how hideous this series was. I guess I don’t even have to–you all know how I’m feeling right about now, I’m sure, at least the Sox fans do. This was awful. Now, we better sweep the Royals, otherwise I’ll be pissed instead of sad.
