Red Sox pitchers, following in the footsteps of the national spelling bee wizards, used their off-day to hold their own contest this afternoon. We hear that Derek Lowe won with the not-so-difficult “r-a-g-a-r-m”, while Pedro bowed out early, failing to properly spell “consistency”. Tim Wakefield came in second, but inexplicably spelled “knuckle” without the “k”, giving Lowe the title.
