After 1:
Manny bein’ Manny. (2 run double becomes 2 run single)
Boomer bein’ Boomer. (Every pitch on the outside edge.)
Mike Piazza says the Mets used to call him “Steady” John Olerud. Who says those ballplayers don’t lack imagination?!
Will someone please explain to me why Mike Piazza is part of this analysis team? I mean, seriously, just give us Jerry and Don, and every red Sox fan would be so much happier. It’s ridiculous.
Mike Piazza…eh. He’s about 1000 times better than Sutcliffe, Berman, Morgan, Buck, or McCarver.
Sort of like this game is about 1000 times better than yesterday’s. Hopefully it’ll stay that way.
Berman calls everything like it’s a game-ending touchdown pass, big shock.
Piazza used the word “steady” again to describe Olerud.
A 5-pitch inning out of Buehrle? Way to work the pitcher, fellas…
The Sox need to see a few more pitches, if just to give Boomer a little breather between innings.
And now we’re seeing the result of that short break. Lead cut in half…and counting.
The Gooch!
And now we’re seeing the result of that short break.
Though Graffanino can’t blame the quick at-bats…
Bring on the off-season!!!
Piazza: “The best pitchers keep your team within one swing of the bat.” Maybe that’s what the best pitchers on the Mets do. On other teams, the best pitchers don’t let their opponents score runs.
hey, anyone in NY, what station (radio) is the Sox-Sox game on? There’s all this hockey on, can’t find this game and I’m in my office away from the tv.
I guess I won’t ever rely on the kindness of strangers. I just spent the last hour listening to Lite FM hits because I couldn’t find the game. Boy, you’d never know it but late Carly Simon is pretty good.
Let’s go Yanks!
Sorry. Was it not on ESPN radio? 1300 something on your am dial?
Didn’t look like any prolems with Jeets knee on that first play: flyin’ down the line.
Um, the monogrammed “A” on the back of the mound? A logo we’d gladly do without.
Dear Theo,
Thank you for sending us Bellhorn and taking on Gaffanino! Guess I won’t be seeing you in the next round, but I hear your job might be available, so maybe I’ll see you on Yawkey Way.
Cash
Sorry, that was meant to go just to Theo.
Dear Brian:
Tony might not have had a chance to botch an easy play in the offseason if we had stuck with Horny, since if we stuck with Horny we might not have even made the playoffs. But I don’t expect you to understand that, since your idea of general management is to pick up every player available until one of them actually pans out. Tough work, that.
Best,
Theo
Theo’s not that dumb.
Weather forecast for tonight in the Bronx: 80 – 90% chance of rain. More rain forecast for tomorrow.
Since they have to play at least 2 more games, does that mean the second game would be Monday?
