Summertime Gamer: Jays-Yanks, Tribe-Sox Gamer

It's been quiet around these parts the last week or three.  Your devoted writers at YFSF love to live so pleasantly, live this life of luxury, lazing on sunny afternoons in the summertime.  Lazing is the key word.  The tales of drunkenness and cruelty are more allegory than substance and have not been proven in any court.

Tonight it's the squawk of Jaybirds in the Bronx while the Tribe invades Beantown.

  • Another sterling outing for AJ. I fucking hate him. He is completely worthless. $85 million wasted.
Can he just blow out his elbow so we can find someone else??? PLEASE???
(I don’t really mean that, just pissed.)

  • And Jed pops out on Ball 4 with papi on deck. At some point, we are going to have to beat the bad teams to even sniff the wild card.

  • Also, forgot to comment on Santana, I felt so bad, that was sooo dumb

  • Lost 3 of 4, out of first place…this team, record be damned, is playing like complete shit right now. ARod looks like the old choke-job Arod again…Tex is still hitting like .230…WS hangover is in full effect.

  • Maybe we can hold onto the WC? After a Sox sweep this weekend, we could end up in 3rd soon…

  • yeah, but i think [hope] this is nothing more than a speedbump…when you consider a few of the bigger stars are having off years [tex’s july surge notwithstanding], the doubts about a portion of the bullpen, burnetts’s too frequent burnouts, losing pettitte for a few starts, and a few other issues, this team remains one of the best in baseball…the rays are hot right now too…i saw it first hand…but, they are not just hot, they are good…they’ve won 9 of their last 10, while the yankees are treading water at 5-5 over their last 10…i don’t expect either of those mini-trends to last the rest of the way…the red sox still have something to say about all this too, even with all the injuries…if they can get healthy in time it’s not unreasonable to expect them to make a run at this…

  • The Yankees have a +1.3 run differential, best in the Major Leagues. I’m not worried. Yet.

  • Probably should have mentioned that the SatanFish are +1.2.

  • It has nothing to do with the Rays, Sox, etc…it has everything to do with us. They need a spark. They’ve been lackluster all season long and still have the best record in MLB which proves my point. If we play well, we can’t be touched. They are not and have not been playing well.

  • Good 1st for Moseley…Tex hits a 2 run bomb…2-0 after 1.
