Tanaka is coming to The Stadium, according to Ken Rosenthal. What a nice way to start the day.
Details of the contract? Who cares. 7yrs, $155M if you have to a complete pedant.
So do they sign Garza and Drew now? Did the Roberts deal ever become official? I guess the BP and 3rd base are their only significant concerns now?
Sabathia, Tanaka, Kuroda, Nova, Pineda?
And I think they have several bullpen spots up for grabs, but I don’t really know.
Pretty good shape, a bit old maybe. I can imagine this spending spree getting a title (the last such spree did, after all), though I wonder why they didn’t break the bank for Cano this year if they were going to blow the door off the coffers and to hell with the luxury tax.
I am beyond psyched. Not because I believe tanaka will be a savior, but he was by far the best and most compelling option for the rotation and he makes this team of 2006 all-stars that much younger and more interesting. If you are going to commit 7 years to a pitcher (scary) it might as well be a 25-year old phenom.
We need a Haiku contest, no?

but more the Bombers.
