We'll always have 2007.
Thank you, but at this point, it’s definitely time to go.
Best of luck to Oki, though. Tito used him like an addiction, and not once did he ever say boo.
News on the Toast:
Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Red Sox have reached a one-year, $2 million agreement with catcher Jason Varitek.
The Dodgers expressed some interest in adding Varitek, but he’s played all 13 of his major league seasons in Boston and probably didn’t want to pack up and move. He should see a decent amount of playing time behind Jarrod Saltalamacchia next season but won’t be much of a fantasy option. The 38-year-old Varitek hit .232/.293/.473 with seven homers over 112 at-bats in 2010
Lifted from Heyman..
Best of luck to Oki; he’ll always hold a special place in my heart for that one game in 2007 where he was announced as an All Star, and he came out and bowed to the Fenway crowd with tears in his eyes.
