The Silver Lining

Thankfully, I was otherwise engaged during last night’s debacle in the Bronx….You can’t win ’em all? April baseball? I’m going to look on the bright side this morning. IPK is gonna throw better than 50 percent strikes most days, and our AlbOhlenTrabe middle-relief squad tossed 4.2 innings of 2 hit ball with no runs, no walks, and 6 ks. Too many innings for the bullpen was a problem last April. Let’s hope it’s not this year.

  • Is it me or did Farnsworth look sillier than usual last night? I can’t put my finger on it, but I’m watching the replays on sportscenter and I want to laugh at him.
Even if IPK continues to struggle, 2 out of the big 3 ain’t bad. Hughes is the real deal for sure, and even if Joba never starts a game in his life we all know he’s an elite reliever. Likewise, Buchholz worries me. I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous about a regular season start in my life.
