The Thunderbolt Kid

Without even playing a game, Nick Swisher immediately becomes our favorite Yankee. He’s a natural, alright–for sketch comedy. Great timing. (HT to Pete Abe)

  • That was great. Living out in San Francisco the past few years I was able to watch alot of Swisher. He was never one of my favorite guys, and initially (for no rational reason) I was annoyed by his long hair and beard grow out thing he did on Oakland a few years back. It wasn’t until he cut it all off that I found out (during a broadcast) he had grown it and cut it specifically for a Cancer foundation and charity event. That made me: a) feel rather wretched for disliking him for his hair, and b) much kinder/tender(?) to him as a player.

  • As a post script my girlfriend (who has learned over the past 4 years about baseball) said he would be and should be on the Yankees two years ago.
I have her picking horses for me, lottery numbers, and the over-unders of every sporting event.

  • kinda funny walein, i used to love swishers dirtbag look. a throw back to the great 70’s era A’s players. when nick went to the chi sox he started waxing his eyebrows, sculpting his facial hair, and highlighting his tips.
    and then there’s this…..
nick getting waxed ….by vicente padilla.
