The Ed Whitson Classic

Next year’s World Series Game 1 match-up will be Carl Pavano (LA Dodgers) vs. Denny Neagle (Cleveland Indians). Hey, why not? How many people going into this season could have imagined this  match-up? Baseball is cruel, unpredictable and even sometimes redemptive. For Yanks fans like me, this is a tough one to watch. Are there two former Yankees on the planet I dislike more than these guys?

  • For a Sox fan this would be like Matt Young starting against Bob Stanley…

  • …if there’s a god, they will both suck and the game will be a 15-15 tie, called because of curfew…by the way, sf, how does “Hung-wun Kim” and “El Guapisto” fit into your sox matchup?…

  • Guapo? I liked El Guapo. Kim I didn’t care for, but he was no Stanley Steamer or Matt Young. Stanley was my least fave Sox of all time. Easily.
