  • Hey, at least you injured his left wing!

Fred Vincy YF February 23, 2007, 12:34 pm
  • No, I uploaded the wrong image. Thanks for pointing it out!

    SF February 23, 2007, 12:37 pm
  • Boooo! SF pulled a switcheroo on us. No fair. Let the record reflect that the original shot had the sling on the LEFT ARM.

    YF February 23, 2007, 12:46 pm
  • no matter. Hughes is so good that he could pitch brilliantly with his left arm.

    Nick-YF February 23, 2007, 12:47 pm
  • PS: It’s still on his left arm. SF has simply flopped the photo; it’s like looking at the slide from the back. Cheater!

    Anonymous February 23, 2007, 12:49 pm
  • Hey SF: I need my sling back.

  • Very Funny????? Ok.. According to Boston Herald Bucholtz has suffered migraines in last three days and experience seizure. Due to this problem, Bucholtz has announced his retirement baseball today.

  • Breaking News, I was watching NesN.. According to Hazel Mae Ellsbury quit Redsox to pursue a career to become a priest. :)

  • Manny Ramirez has decided to become a rap artist, Beckett decides that his calling is really an emo band along the likes of Fallout Boy (explaining his awful hair styling) and Papelbon is training to become a hitter.

  • Curt Schilling has announced his retirement and will pursue a career as a sports agent, but has promised his prospective clients his meetings with management will last longer than 3 minutes, and he won’t stomp off mad if he doesn’t get his way, right away.

  • Hazel Mae..mmmmmmmmm. I want some Hazel Mae pie.

  • i was going to photoshop a picture of schilling to make it appear as though he was overweight… but the herald beat me to it.

Yankee Fan In Boston February 23, 2007, 2:11 pm
  • That picture in the Herald was right after Schilling had distended his jaw and swallowed Dustin Pedroia whole so lets give Schill a break on that one.

  • I’m so evil. The thoughts on this kid can’t be shared for fear of the backlash.

    Brad February 23, 2007, 2:34 pm
  • brad,
    why not share those thoughts?

  • if anything did happen to phil hughes, do you think the sox would send flowers and a card?

Yankee Fan In Boston February 23, 2007, 2:47 pm
  • If he tore his rotator cuff, no, of course not. If he got cancer, probably. Especially since not doing so would look terrible at this point.

    desturbd1 February 23, 2007, 2:52 pm
  • that was just rhetorical, desturbd1. i just lobbed that out there before the disclaimer was added to the top.

Yankee Fan In Boston February 23, 2007, 2:58 pm
  • “if anything did happen to phil hughes, do you think the sox would send flowers and a card?”
They might, but right after they called the florist, Henry, Lucchino, Theo and Tito would be doing some sort of a high-fiving/square dance while popping open bottles of champagne in the offices at Fenway.

    Whatever February 23, 2007, 3:00 pm
  • The disclaimer was up with the original post.
If Hughes hurts himself, that would be terrible, regardless of how he hurts himself. I, for one, want the Yankees to fail, but I don’t root for failure to occur because guys’ careers are ruined.
I leave that to Phillies fans.

    SF February 23, 2007, 3:01 pm
  • “The disclaimer was up with the original post.”
proof positive that it was needed.
my eyes never even made it that far before i was typing. oops.
    my apologies, SF.

  • Well hell, I thought all the comments in this thread were meant to be humorous including SF’s at the top until desturbd1 threw out that wet blanket at 2:52 p.m.

    Whatever February 23, 2007, 3:09 pm
  • Heh…whoops. My bad. I couldn’t tell if it was a joke…since he didn’t see the disclaimer, it was only half-and-half, right? Sorta? Also didn’t see the little ‘humor’ tag up there.
    Been a long day…

    desturbd1 February 23, 2007, 3:16 pm
  • “Been a long day…”
I know how those long days go desturb1. Lots of times I log into YF vs. SF for the first time in the evening, when my ass is shot.
I happen to have had the day off from work today, so I’m feeling particularly jolly. Heh.

    Whatever February 23, 2007, 3:30 pm
  • I happen to have had the day off from work today
and so sets in the envy.

    Brad February 23, 2007, 3:43 pm
  • today has been a rough one for me, too. more than the usual waiting-out-the-clock friday, too.
i plan on tossing a couple back while tonight and talking some baseball, though… so there is hope.

Yankee Fan In Boston February 23, 2007, 3:47 pm
  • wow. was that some serious grammar butchering, or what? a long day indeed.

Yankee Fan In Boston February 23, 2007, 3:48 pm
A reason to like Giambi, if ever there was one. A-Rod could use some of this mojo sometimes. Not the content, but the absolute realness of the comments themselves. He has no qualms about what anyone thinks, and it’s admirable to know that when you ask Giambi a question, most times you just might get the real answer.
And, he seems to be a pervert! ha.

    Brad February 23, 2007, 3:53 pm
  • I’m thinking that I may have a few or twelve tonight myself, YFIB. Long Trail has a new Blackberry Wheat that I had in draft a few days ago, and it was pretty damn good. Not like Cherry Wheat, that tastes more like Nyquil than beer. Yep. That’s what I’m doing.

    Brad February 23, 2007, 3:55 pm
  • when i lived out west, i used to drink henry weinhardt’s blackberry wheat ale. i usually don’t care for “flavored” beer, but i liked that one. yeah… a dozen. that sounds so nice right now.
and that giambi interview was great. he’s consistent, you’ve got to give him that.

Yankee Fan In Boston February 23, 2007, 4:07 pm
  • “and that giambi interview was great. he’s consistent, you’ve got to give him that.”
Yeah…but Hinder sucks. :-) Kind of like the bastard child of Nickelback and Creed, without the Jesus. Yuck.

    desturbd1 February 23, 2007, 4:36 pm
  • I hear ‘ya, DI. That song they play is on in my girl’s car every single time I get in, and I can’t STAND it. It’s terrible. More Creed that Nickelback, but regardless, it’s garbage.

    Brad February 23, 2007, 4:42 pm
  • i’ve never heard of them or their music. sounds as though i am better off. is that music truly “alternative”? if there are dozens of bands with record deals getting songs that sound like that played on the radio, i think we can stop calling it “alternative.”
    alright… to the bar…
