The Horror

John_dolan

That’s blues-singing fool Jim Dolan. He owns the New York Knicks. Since he took over the ownership of the team, the team has sucked.

(Guitar solo time. Count 80 seconds…and we’re back.)

Jon Heyman reports that Dolan is interested in buying the Yankees if the franchise is put up for sale in the future (with George’s health apparently failing and no clear line of succession in place, the sale of the Yankees is a possibility.)

Dolan has Knicks fans singing the blues. Will he soon have Yanks fans doing the same?

  • Heyman was on MK Show and said he doubts it could ever happen after the ’98 debacle. I think he wrote this for attention. Lord I hope it never happens. He said he could envision them buying YES, but the Yanks are a long shot at best.

  • It’d make me chuckle a little…heh. Boston suffered through 70+ years of arguably one of the worst ownership groups in the history of American sports, so I wouldn’t have much in the way of pity.
That said, it’s probably crap…I’m not a big Heyman fan. And I’d rather not see our rival run into the ground by poor ownership anyway, that’s just no fun.

  • Is Steinbrenner’s daughter single? Hook her up with Mark Cuban!

  • I’d like to say I’m a bigger person than one who roots for the Yankees to be bought by incompetent fruitcakes. But I’m not.
At any rate, all ownership changes must be approved by MLB, and if there’s anything MLB is about, it’s protecting its cash cows. No way Selig would let some nutjob buy the Yankees. Ever.
When you consider the Taylor ownership, the Yawkey ownership, and the Yawkey trust ownership… Man. That’s the curse we should all be talking about.

  • Your fears of Dolan are not worse than mine when Vince McMahon allegedly bid on the Red Sox.

  • George Steinbrenner’s daughter is a real hottie.
Any red-blooded, heterosexual America male would go for her … if you like saggy, middle-aged chicks.

  • Dolan looks like the bizarre offspring of Van Morrison and Gollum.

  • With a pinch of Danny Devito…or at least, he looks like a short, chubby man in that picture.

  • i think id become a phillies fan or something if this happened. Dolan is a failure at everything but owning a cable company.

  • Where’s the gamer? I want to bitch about Joe starting Miencrapawicz again. Why hit him 9th when he could be hitting 3rd or clean up?

  • I’d point out that Dougie hit Matsuzaka pretty well last time. 2/3 with a double.

  • Hey, just like the (much) lesser Mo (Wily), even a stopped clock is right twice a day. I have absolutely no faith in Doug’s ability to hit. I guess that lessens the blow when he fulfills my expectations night after night. And makes those stopped-clock moments all the more sweeter.
