The Moose Is Loose: Yanks-Jays Gamer III

Mike Mussina, looking as good as he’s ever looked in pinstripes, takes the hill for the Yanks in an afternoon start today against the Jays, who throw Gustavo Chacin. Last time the boys saw him, in Toronto, they put up a quick 4-spot, before the bats went to sleep and the Unit started hemorraghing runs, the result being a loss. We’re hoping for a more sustained attack today, along with a solid pitching performance, the combined result of which being a you-know-what. Anyway, we may not be around to watch—though we do plan to be listening—but in the event that you are, this thread is your opportunity for comment on all the action.

  • all part of the “cerebral” Mussina’s plan, as he gets the Glaus GIDP. Very clever, Moose. Touche.

  • Another k for Moose. It seems that he’s doing a lot less nibbling at the strike zone this year. A lot less 3-2 counts so far this season.

  • I meant a lot fewer.

    NickYF April 30, 2006, 1:33 pm

  • Can anyone tell me why Torre was ejected?

    Devine April 30, 2006, 2:44 pm
  • Yeah, someone please help with this thread. Moose just got out of a bases loaded jam and Phillips hit a HR, but that’s all via gamecast…help!!

    RichYF April 30, 2006, 2:45 pm
  • Giambino!!
Torre, and Gibbons in the second half of the same inning, were both ejected for arguing about the strike zone. Inconsistencies, apparently. Though the fact that both skippers were tossed probably weighs in the ump’s favor…
