The Yankees and The Donald

We know George and Donnie T are pals. It seems, too, that the Yankee ballmen have a taste for the architectural stylings of the Man of Bronze. Derek, of course, makes his home in Trump World Tower, just a ducksnort away from the UN. Now A-Rod will be joining Jeets as an Upper East Side resident. New York real estate blog Curbed, helmed by someteimes YFSF guest editor Lockhart Steele, reports the third baseman is moving into a 3br on the 19th floor of Trump Park Ave, over on 59th Street. The asking: $8.67 million. Take a peek at the floor plan after the jump.

  • “Study”? What’s he studying? His chiseled features?

  • Powder room? [instert attack on a-rod’s heterosexuality here]
..and while i’m at it: is there any one of us without a serious and undisclosed pooping problem who would require three toilets in their apartment?

  • Four? One for each bedroom, and one for the general populace?

  • All athletes seem to have studies, SF. God only knows what they do in there – sign photos?
Matty – many of these places have not only a bathrm per bedrm and the visitors’ WC, but his ‘n’ hers bathrooms and his ‘n’ hers closets. I worked on one renovation for a (recently married) couple where they went ahead and had separate bedrooms.
I’m sure the finishes are nice and it’s huge but I gotta say that’s a crappy floor plan by wealthy-New-York-resident standards – the maid’s room is right off the study, the kitchen isn’t exactly the sort of central family room you often see, and the foyer opens right into the living room.
Still, more power to him, I suppose he’ll enjoy it when he’s in town.
