If they can’t win a game where John Lackey faces Erik Bedard at Fenway Park, they should pretty much just give up now. My pre-season pick of Tampa Bay is not looking so hot right now as they have scored a total of three more runs than the punchless Red Sox. Then again, they’ve also scored two more than the “way worse than their actual record” Yankees (admittedly the Rays have played one more game than the Yanks). Every team in the AL East has a negative run differential as of this morning (Yankees: -8, Balty: -6, Toronto: -1, Red Sox: -15, Tuberculosis: -9).
So watch this battle of lightweights as the Sox try to push their April record to .500 by winning both of the next two games.
