Uno Memento

As noted on this site yesterday, both players and fans are itching to get their sticky fingers on a piece of good old Yankee Stadium before it comes down for good. Memories! Moose wants to buy the flagpole. Damon wants the foul poles. Those orders have been getting a good deal of play in the media. Thanks to an anonymous source in the Yankee front office, YFSF has learned about some other requests:

-Carl Pavano: First-Aid kit
-A-Rod: Clubhouse mirror
-Paul O’Neill: Dugout water cooler
-Willie Randolph: A job
-David Wells: Babe Ruth monument
-Reggie Jackson: Reggie Jackson plaque
-Derek Jeter: The sound of Bob Sheppard’s voice
-John Sterling: The sound of his own voice
-Rudy Giuliani: Ronan Tynan

  • HA! Good list. To add (that’s what you wanted, right?)…
Mariano Rivera – The bullpen and the “Enter Sandman” CD

  • Melky Cabrera – All of those (useless) GOT MELKY? T-shirts from the Yankees store.
Joe Torre – His hidden stash of Bigelow Green Tea.
Robinson Cano – His swing. He knows it’s somewhere in the stadium, he just can’t find it.
Bobby Abreu – A piece of the RF wall. While his agent will be trying to find a team that does not have a RF wall in their home stadium for ’09, he can use part of the wall to practice just in case.
Sorry YF, I had to chime in.

-Bucky Dent: His pre-1978 middle name
-Aaron Boone: His pre-2003 middle name
-Don Mattingly: His mustache (from Jason Giambi)
-Bleacher Creatures: Their less-expensive seats to bring to the new park

  • Wouldn’t Giuliani really prefer the physical object of seat #9 in row 11?
