Uphill Climb: Sox-Rays Gamer III

Yesterday’s victory came courtesy of an 8-run inning off injured David Price and ineffective Jamey Wright (and Lester throwing 7 innings of 2-run ball). Offense can’t rely on that today, going to have to be better to get a meager win streak going against potential-filled Alex Cobb. Young starter is in his third season and recently struck out 13 Padres…in 4.2 innings…

Unfortunately, the Sox send Felix “lost 3 MPH on my fastball” Doubront to the mound. He was savagely battered in his impromptu long man start against Minnesota when Webster utterly failed as well. Let’s hope for a resurgence. Got comment?

  • Down 3-1 to start the 9th, the Sox walk three times to load the bases…and with 2 outs, Middlebrooks clears them with a double to go ahead 4-3. Tazawa scrapes the save in his second inning of work for the night.

Probably the win of the year.
