  • Looked painful. He’s staying in there though.

  • alex down looking. i REALLY hope that SI article doesn’t have a negative affect on alex or the team.

  • I certainly hope not. For the most part, I thought it was a favorable article.
Glaus hits one deep to right but it’s an out and Karstens escapes the jam.

  • Jorge! Solo shot to right. He got all of that one.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 7:31 pm
  • Cano hits one really hard to deep right center; it’s caught at the track.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 7:33 pm
  • 3-1 is questionable strike called. Matsui goes down swinging on a change low and away.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 7:35 pm
  • Melky beats out an infield single chopped over Marcum fielded by Hill.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 7:36 pm
  • Marcum keeps going deep in the count. It’s 3-0 to Damon, who takes strike 1 looking. A throw over to first, then a good low strike to make it full. The payoff: big change strikes out damon swinging.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 7:39 pm
  • Hill singles. Zaun hits a hard shot to the right field wall. Abreu gets it in quickly to hold it to a single and prevent the run. Rios hits a double up left to make it second and third. Scoring Hill.

  • ugh..c’mon Karsens. bases loaded

    m.g. yanks fan September 19, 2006, 7:49 pm
  • wow, karsens gets out of trouble yet again. 1-1.

    m.g. yanks fan September 19, 2006, 7:51 pm
  • Adams walks. Catalanatto pops out, then Lind goes the other way to the track for the third out. Tie game after two. Could have been much, much worse.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 7:51 pm
  • Efficient inning for Marcum.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 7:55 pm
  • Wells rips one off the wall to left. Melky makes a great play off the wall and throws a laser to 2nd but Wells is in safely. Great throw. The Glaus lines out to deep left.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 7:58 pm
  • i can’t believe it’s only 1-1. everybody is hitting karsen’s well. even the outs are well hit.

  • Overbay singles to right; Abreu throws home, good throw but Wells is in there; Posada comes off the plate and throws to Jeter to freeze Overbay off first; they get the second out from the pickle. 2-1 Toronto.

  • Hill flies out to center.
Yeah, mg, Karstens is getting knocked around. Offense has never been Toronto’s problem.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:02 pm
  • Marcum hits Giambi on the belly to lead off the NY 4th.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:04 pm
  • Posada walks on five pitches to make it 1st and 2nd no outs to Cano.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:05 pm
  • Cano singles to right to load the bases for Godzilla.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:07 pm
  • Afflac: Vernon Wells is one of three players to hit 20 or more home runs five seasons for the Jays. Who are the other three?

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:08 pm
  • Matsui pops out in foul territory off first. Way too much foul territory at the Sky Dome.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:09 pm
  • Cabrera singles home Giambi and Posada; Cano advances to third. MELKY!!

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:11 pm
  • My guess: Joe Carter, George Bell, and Carlos Delgado

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:12 pm
  • Jeter down looking on a 1-2 curve that looked pretty low. End of the inning: Yanks 3 Jays 2

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:15 pm
  • wow, that was a bullshit strike three. it was in the dirt.

    m.g. yanks fan September 19, 2006, 8:16 pm
  • hey, you were right AG

    m.g. yanks fan September 19, 2006, 8:17 pm
  • Sun shines on the Gerbil’s ass today, which is where he pulled his trivia answer out of.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:18 pm
  • MG: agreed, that strike three was crap.
Nice catch by Melky. That drive was humming.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:20 pm
  • Adams doubles to deep right center. Nice cutoff by Johnny.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:22 pm
  • Did Singleton just call Lake Erie Lake Ontario while making fun of somebody else calling Lake Michigan an ocean?

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:23 pm
  • Other way around rather – Lake Ontario Lake Erie

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:24 pm
  • Abreu singles; ARod walks on four pitches and that’s it for Marcum.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:31 pm
  • Giambi’s full with no outs: he hits a soft roller to first that pushes the runners to second and third for Jorge, with one out.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:37 pm
  • giambi has really not looked good. maybe they will have to platoon shef with giambi at first

    m.g. yanks fan September 19, 2006, 8:37 pm
  • Posada down swinging on three pitches.
YES just showed video of Guidry pitching bp to Sheff. Trés cool.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:39 pm
  • man, if was a pitcher, all i would throw posada was breaking pitches. he can never seem to hit them

    m.g. yanks fan September 19, 2006, 8:40 pm
  • Downs is really fooling the lefties with that change. Cano is behind 0-2.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:41 pm
  • MG: regarding platooning, I wonder if they will do that all next year. I would like to see it. Downs gets Cano to pop out to Glaus to end the threat.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:42 pm
  • i kind of would too, but i worry about shef not feeling he is getting enough playing time, and then making it well known. i also kind of want them to get (or bring up) a really good fielding 1st baseman. i think having better defense at first is important, especially since matsui will be taking over left again. but…it’s hard not to want shef’s bat around. or see him on the angels or sox

    m.g. yanks fan September 19, 2006, 8:46 pm
  • I’m out for a bit. See you later, MG.

    attackgerbil September 19, 2006, 8:46 pm
  • real nice play by damon. sliding catch that saved three runs.
