Tex grounds into the DP…he hasn’t been hitting very well lately. Then ARod grounds out weakly to the pitcher. This game sucks so far.

K – you guys are WINNING.
Don’t let playing the Amazin’s warp your perspective!

What happened to Joba going after people? He seems to have 2 strikes on everyone, but then nibbles with BS breaking pitches? He needs some balls!

I hear ya dabize, i’m not pissed, I just don’t like their energy right now…nor Joba’s pitch count.
As I write that, he K’s him with a 95 MPH fastball. Much better.

Could be worse ……. he could have been cut off by a rain delay, a’ la Smoltz. Oh well.
And now yo have Hughes, who seems to be no slouch as a reliever, even if people would prefer that he was starting.
I suppose its more interesting when the RS and NYYs are both “on”, but that seems overrated to me. I LIKED being 5 games up……….

Meh…you guys are set bro. The Sox are an excellent team…we are streaky and aggravating!!!
You are right about Hughes though, looks like a different pitcher coming out of the pen. Rain delay up there in Beantown?

We’re in Charm City, k……. and they’ll start again soon…. only apparently without Smoltz.
Wonder who is going to vultch his win.

Blows the fastball by the Captain…bases loaded, 0 outs and we score one run. That is borderline infuriating. I’m holding back the anger right now…breathe krueg, breathe.

Much as I love the Fens, the game’s in Baltimore.
I think the place goes by the name of “Charm City” – although I tend to think more of “Pink Flamingoes” when I drive through there.
Should really go to Camden Yards someday, what with all the great things that are said about it.
Meanwhile, looks like the NYYs are scoring more runs.

Ichiro is kinda like the ‘flu when he gets on….catches ya napping.
And then (to pound the metaphor into the ground) we will all get TB……. 4 to 1 in the 8th, this will be 7 in a row for them.
Sick! (……runs away)

3 outs finally…a completely sub-par outing for Joba. His lazy play on the first hit by Ichiro leads to a tie game. Just awful.
Hopefully the bats can wake up at some point? No energy on the field, no energy in the stands…this really feels like the Nats games. Good teams don’t need to get fired up to beat an inferior team. (ie. the Sox)

Looks like Morrow has caught up with Joba’s PC.
Not that that’s necessarily good for the NYYs, from the look of it.
Since I can’t watch the game, I can’t tell whether Morrow is bad, or if it’s just the Seattle D. Appreciate the updates, BTW.
As for the Rays, it’s too wet here in BOS to think of fire, so a plague will have to do. They shouldn’t be ignored, that’s for sure.
Masterson in to vultch.
At least he got a 1-2-3, makes it seem less unjust.

He has been pretty good? Or have we just been off? A lot of pitches right down the middle missed or fouled off…
Walks ARod…1st and 2nd, 1 out for Cano.

Funny how it always seems that the team you root for has trouble with teams they should beat.
It hasn’t seemed like the RS have been cleaning up on the dregs when I watch them, but then maybe I’m a curse – whenever I go to the game, they lose, so far to the Mets (vs Santana) and the Braves (that awful Daisuke start).
When you look back at the interleague numbers, both the NYYs and the RS have been winning when they had to, with the exception of the Mets (RS) and the Nats (Yanks).
Back to business now……

Godzilla chokes…Joba comes back in for science knows what reason, gives up a hit. SAC bunt, 2nd with 1 out. Coke comes in to face Ichiro. This should pretty much do it…

That came out bad…..didn’t mean to seem to gloat, k, especially since I’m actually still convinced that SEA will cough it up. I just forgot.

If it makes you feel any better, Masterson gives up 5 runs in an eyeblink, and the O’s are making it a game.
10-5.
Teach me to be bored.

Jeez, I don’t know.
10-6
As for the Yanks, think Santana…..15 runs.
It’ll happen

You guys in the 8th yet?
Yahoo must be 2 innings behind easy.
Oki in.
And the throw hits the runner going into 3rd after a bloop hit.
Oh God…….

Ohh …… the short guy reels in a liner with 10-9 written all over it.
Breathe.
Hope you don’t mind my camping out here, k, the guys in the other thread just curse, and I can do that myself.

At the game tonight. That shot from A-Rod was mammoth. Griffey didn’t budge as it arced high over his head.

Guess I can’t begrudge AR that…..well I can, but you know what I mean.
Duty calls…..this atheist must be a diplomat now with the glatt kosher in-laws
Have fun……

Things are so queit here that if I just yell your name out you’d probably hear me on the broadcast. Feels like we stranded a village on the basepads tonight. And not like a mostly deserted village in Siberia or something. I’m talking Southeast Asia or something.
And as I type, Bruney brings the go-ahead run to the plate with no outs.

5-4. Bruney sucks. Get him the hell out of the game. 1st and 2nd with 0 outs still. Bring in Ace. Bruney is garbage and should lose his 8th inning job. He has been terrible since he came back. Get rid of his sorry-ass…
Joe keeps him in the game. Great call idiot.

Bunt, 2nd and 3rd…1 out. Walking Ichiro to load the bases. So now, we should be down 5-7 in a minute with his speed on the bases.
Of course, Joe gets Mo up again with Ace. Bruney should not pitch in the 8th anymore…Ace should pitch the 8th from now on.

Not to second guess Joe, since his moves are always so brilliant, but I agree with Michael Kay…why the hell do you take out Hughes when he only threw 9 pitches???

Swish with a GREAT bunt…and the pitcher screws it up and there is no throw. I cannot believe that Swish actually did something useful!!! 1st and 3rd, no outs…COME ON MELKY!!!

I fear that if I actually channeled my inner-krueg here I’d be kicked out and my package revoked…
Matsui LUMBERS into second ona frozenrope and Swish lays downa BEAUT. They MUST take the lead here and turn over to Month. Come on!!! (Meanwhile, out-of-town scoreboard makes the O’-Sox game look hopeful (for me)
Melkman delivers!!!!!!!!!!! Hi-fiving complete strangers…

Oops…yeah it was me. Outed myself there thanks to rapid B-berry typing. Oh well. Did the double hi-five on Jeter’s hit for you there Krueg.

Great base running by the Captain…tags and gets to 2nd. Hooks the base with his foot to stay on the bag…IS THERE ANYTHING HE CANNOT DO???

I see Papelbon has been brought on for the 5-out save. I dare not put much hope in the Orioles, but it would be a beautiful cherry on top of.a fun night of baseball at the stadium to go home to the highlights of a RS blown 8-run lead…too much to hope for methinks…

O’s bat around twice in the late innings, ahead 11-10 with JP blowing the save.
Don’t know what to say.
Back to listening to shopping exploits of the ILs in Hebrew…..it sucked less.

Great day for baseball. I can’t wait to see what John Henry tweets about this time! After all, the best bullpen he’s ever seen just blew a 9-run lead.
Also, I see that the ‘show more comments’ thing has been turned into a nifty ‘>>’ and ‘<<'. I like.

It’s old school…right andy???
I can’t believe the Sox blew the lead…that is rowdy. They can easily still win it though.
I’ve said it a million times, I don’t really follow what the Sox are doing aside from our games. It isn’t about them, it’s about us. If we play well and win, we’re going to end up in great shape.

Pete Abe is complaining about Joba and his 3.89 ERA. What the hey? 3.89 in the AL East is great, isn’t it? (Though I don’t know the average for this year since all the roids might be fading..)
He needs to go deeper into games, and that might be because he’s still young and going for more K’s rather than making bad contact. Still, for a 23 year old, what more do you want?

I want starts of more than 5 innings and wins Lar, that’s what I want…
Bright side? If we make the postseason, he won’t really have to start but can go back where he belongs…in the bullpen. :)

“…it would be a beautiful cherry on top of.a fun night of baseball at the stadium to go home to the highlights of a RS blown 8-run lead…too much to hope for methinks…”
enjoying your cherry IH?…not here to pile on the sox fans, but it was sweet to get that update…
“…I don’t really follow what the Sox are doing aside from our games. It isn’t about them, it’s about us….”
i see your point, and i hear players say the same thing, but i can’t help it krueg…i have to peek at the sox scores, sometimes even watch their games…what they do is important to us, especially since they’re ahead of us in the standings…i’d be less interested if they were perennial doormats, but that’s not the reality…

I understand DC, I am just sick of all the Yankees vs Sox BS…so I have removed myself from it. It’s like arguing politics, you aren’t going to change anyones mind so why bother? Don’t get my wrong, I check the scored because we are in the same division, but i do that for all the AL East teams. That’s why I get so pissed when certain people on here post their passive-agressive garbage about the Yankees. I know PLENTY of SF’s that are really cool people and we have fun, but the haters I really cannot deal with…on both sides.

Agree with you dc – I follow the Yankees and whoever is leading them in the standings, if anyone. Do I have a little extra interest and schadenfreude when that team is Boston and they lose tough ones like last night? Yes. But if the Yanks were trailing the Rays in the standings with Boston in 4th or whatever, my attention would be first on the Yankees (as always) and second on the Rays.
Regardless, last night was fun baseball for multiple reasons.
