"This is exactly the team I thought they were." – my thoughts moments after tonight's Yankees' loss.
Great offense, dubious starting pitching, strong bullpen, overly defensive general manager. Yeah, this is the team we all thought it would be. On the other hand, is it still too early for the first comment to be true?

The scary thing is that the Sox could improve markedly and this would make them…mediocre.
There are no “I told you so’s”, either. The Sox are far underperforming even those who were most skeptical of their makeup. This is historic underachievement.
It is just sports, after all, and there is no pretending that this is of even remotely significant importance in the grand scheme of things, but the Sox are in the process of ruining an entire summer even before May starts.
