A-Rod’s sailing away with that error…
On another note, I thought Gustavo Molina was damn impressive defensively in his starts. A couple runners only managed to swipe a bag off of him because Robby dropped the ball. Cervelli was had the worst defensive rating last year in all of baseball.
I don’t know what Joe sees in the guy, unless he really has the trust of the pitchers.

Where the hell would we be without Curtis…I shutter to think.
Oh, and by the way…we’re going to blow this game. No question. Our bullpen is a joke. Defense, pitching and offense too…besides Curtis.

Swish called safe at first…but both he and Napoli missed the bag. This game is wacky.
AND…as I type Hip Hip actually got a base hit???? WTF???
And now Gardner…don’t even ask him to bunt…HE CAN’T!!!!

“…So anyone have an idea of what happens to all the pink gear they use on mother’s day, do they reuse it next year?…”
well bill, the yankee announcers said that it gets auctioned off with the proceeds going to the charity…

“…Actually looked like a popup off the bat to me, but haha….”
the yankees have figured out a way to take the new ys homer jet stream on the road

Yankees are hitting just a ridiculous amount of homeruns, and not just at home. I wonder how long it will be before Gammons calls all the Yankees’ opposing pitchers ‘disgraceful’?

Jeter lacing the ball the last couple games, including two opposite-field home-runs today, the second measuring a good 410+ ft. Guess he hasn’t lost his swing after all. Nice 4 for 6 day for the captain.
And Cervelli’s grand slam was his first home run since the June 24, 2009 game vs. Atlanta that marked the starting point of the Yankees’ torrid second half of that season (I believe they gained 16 games on the Sox from that game through to the end of the season).
CC has looked a little ragged of late, but the bats seem to wake up (and go to sleep) in bunches this season. Let’s hope they stick around a while and that A-Rod gets the bug sooner or later too.

What the announcers said is what I have read. The equipment gets donated/auctioned.

I said it would only take a few good games for Jeter’s season to go from bad to average. Now that that’s done, let’s see the season go from average to good.

what’s startling to me is how dramatically different jeter’s looked in the past couple of games v. the first bunch of games…i was beginning to believe the folks who said he was done, lost bat speed, lost his ability to pick up the ball, the ability to drive it to the opposite field, whatever…but seeing his ab’s yesterday, he looks like the good jeter again…i’d like to get an explanation from kevin long as to what he thinks was different…mechanical, bad pitching, stance/stride, pitch selection?…would be nice to keep this going…
