Worth the Money (And then Some)

George is calling it “The year of the extraordinary Yankee fan,” and he’d better believe it’s true. This year’s Yankee home attendance is up 370,000 against last year (which was a record year itself) according to today’s NYT. The average: 47,232 per game. The pinstripers are also #1 in average attendance on the road, though the Bonds show leads in absolute numbers right now, as the Giants have played more road games.’

That’s a lot of fannies in the seats. It would be nice if Doug Pappas were still around to crunch those numbers for us. Could A-Rod be, er, underpaid?
