Yankee Phantom Rotation

We’re not saying we want them back, but just for the record, a peek at how the erstwhile stalwarts of the 2004 Yankee rotation are faring in other climes:

Vazquez: 4-3, 4.04, 58ip, 56k, 8bb, 5hr
Lieber: 5-3, 4.01, 58.1ip, 31k 17bb, 12hr
Hernandez: 5-1, 3.91, 52ip, 30,k 24bb, 3hr
Contreras: 1-1, 3.52, 46ip, 24k, 22bb, 7hr
Halsey: 3-2, 3.54, 53.1ip, 30k, 11bb, 8hr

And don’t get us started on the class of 2003. Or that guy who’s closing for the Dodgers.

  • How many of those guys now pitch in the NL? And see how many wins does the guy still in the AL has?

  • Javy’s looking all kinds of fierce, but Duque just hit the DL, Lieber’s peripherals are not as strong as I would have hoped had he remained with the Yanks (walks and homer are up), Contreras will implode, trust me, I wouldn’t take him back for all the tea in China, even if I like tea. Halsey, however . . . sigh.
