Damn, Millwood all over the place, walks two men, and Bay chases the first pitch. Shitty. Pop up. I can’t imagine them getting this game in, though, from the weather here in NYC, and when it started raining, a few hours ago. what a DP by pedroia! beauty footwork around the bag. Yar, that was a great DP. Lowell really went for it on the throw, considering the runner was off with the pitch. Drew reaches first thanks to a slight fumble by the 1B and some good hustle down the line. Two more left on base. Arrgh. 5 LOB thru three. DEE-fense! Lowell with a nice play. Papi with a K in his first at-bat, and in the second he flails off-balance and pops to Michael Young. Still looking really lost out there. Then Tek gets out in about 1/2 a second. So far, this game is moving right along. Penny gets K #4 for the first out in the 5th. Lugo shouldn’t have made that throw, there’s every chance he could throw it away. Great move to get a glove on it, though. Almost picked him off, then Davis singles. 2 on, 1 down. Ooooohhhh, a little near-collision for Bay and Ellsbury, think they might have been snippy with each other after Bay made the play shoulder to shoulder with Jacoby. 1-0 Rangers…mmmmmm, Lugo maybe had a chance at knocking that down. Shame, would have saved the run. 4-0. BAM, it changes so fast, this game. I want Lugo to die. I am not sure that I mean that metaphorically. Can we fire Lugo? Seriously Theo et al., it’s a lost cause, just eat the money and play the overachieving Green the next few weeks. Buried deeper. 5-0 and two RISP. Penny’s trade value sinking. Pitching change. PS Lugo made another bum diving play in this inning to keep it alive. Well, that certainly doesn’t help Penny’s value. Ha ha, the third out is achieved on a wild pitch that Varitek throws back to the pitcher to get Byrd at home. Ortiz just smiling and shaking his head at his ineptitude. Papi still stinks. Man, he should be turning and lining those inside fastballs. Y’happen to know anything about the Rangers pen, Andrew? Understanding of course that Millwood is still in the game. Millwood pwnage. More Millwood in the 8th, huh? Kinda weird. Bay and Lowell on to start the 8th, nobody warming in the Rangers’ pen when the inning started. Ortiz up. Guardado now warming. Ortiz line single to right. 1 run in. Pitching change. Two down fast, Tek on a low curve swinging 3-2, and Ellsbury popping to left. Baldelli for Lugo PHing. Up the middle, but snared by Kinsler. Engine revs, then dies this inning. Yeah okay, pitch counts don’t matter, Nolan. Especially not for 34 year old pitchers. Does Ryan actually think every pitcher has a golden arm like he does? Yeah, Washington was a jackass to have him start the 8th. It’s the only reason anything got started tonight. Long foul ball from Murphy there. Wow. O’Day, a submariner, walks the first two. Drew had to work for his walk. How do you keep in a reliever who just walked the first two batters of the inning? Especially when you have your closer on the bench? Youk K’s. How do you not throw the ball to second there? Texas is trying to give the game away. They haven’t changed from the two series against the Yankees. Game over. Ah well. Comments are closed.
