… on J.D. Drew: See, I told you so.
… on Eric Wedge: Does he have the worst we’re-losing face in baseball, or what? If I were on his team, and we had a bad inning, I’d think we were never going to win a game again based on his facial experessions.
… on home-field: Fenway was rocking like I’ve never seen it. And they were able to do it without props.
… on rivalries: There seems to be a lot of antagonism between Indians fans and Sox fans this series — and perhaps even more between Cleveland writers and the Sox. Is there something brewing here? The teams have the old history (1948) and plenty of new history (1999, Manny Ramirez). Is Ramirez the Indians’ Babe Ruth?
Of course, the difference is the Sox won multiple World Series with Ruth. Ramirez had to come to Boston to get his ring.
Wedge looks either (a) like Popeye sprung to life, or (b) a hobo they found down by the railyards who is managing in exchange for sleeping in the Jacobs Field boiler room.
good to see you sf’s getting some of your swagger back…so which dice-k will we see tonight?…any thoughts?
the Dice K that will be on a tremendously shortleash…
If ever a Sox pitcher had something to prove tonight, it’s DiceK..
He seems to have a more developed sense of honor/shame than most major leaguers, and with all the talk about his contract and his suckitude in his first two postseason appearances, this is his big chance for redemption
Whether that translates into success, who knows? In his previous outings, he just didn’t have it.
The good news is Boston has Lester, Wakes, Timlin, Okajima, Papelbon and even Beckett available. I hope they put it away early again, but expect a heart-attack-inducing squeaker. And I always get concerned after a blow-out win that sometimes the bats go quiet.
no telling hudson, you could be right about the squeaker, or maybe the sox romp…good luck anyway
IT’S
HGH
TIME
NOW!
Hudson, I was thinking Wedge looks like the caddy from Happy Gilmore. Though I can’t seem to find a picture of him…
I hope Byrd hasn’t been plying Westbrook with any of his HGH. It’s high time we see the real Jake tonight- no more of his bizarre postseason mastery.
And yeah, what’s with the pissing match a’brewing from Cleveland. Do they know that Boston fans could care less about the Indians? We just want to win, doesn’t matter the opposing team.
