And Now For Something Completely Different: Tigers-Sox Gamer III

The first two games of this series featured potent offenses held in check by excellent pitching (a total of 6 runs scored by both teams combined). With Porcello and Dempster stepping over the chalk lines, however, those offenses are likely to be unleashed. Which punching bag will take more abuse? This potential slugfest rubber match between the current top two AL teams oughta be a sight to behold.

  • Stephen Drew is better than Jose Iglesias. 2-0 Sox on a 2-out blast in the 2nd.

  • Has anybody asked Lackey how he feels about 20 runs in game he did not pitch in?

  • Hee hee, true…though maybe the guy who had a 12-12 record with a 6.41 (!!!) ERA in 2011 doesn’t have much of a leg to stand on there.

Also, the MLB headline is: “Yankees continue playoff push vs. Red Sox”. I would prefer: “Red Sox continue march toward wrapping division title with a big goddamn red bow”.
