Back in the Game: Friday Gamer

Though the Yanks played last night, tonight the break officially ends as the Sox are also back in the game. Use this thread to comment on the evening’s action, of all ilks.

Oh, and big congrats to Derek Jeter. We hear he got a hit or something.

(that’s for you, dc!)

Had a brutal week at work, my wife’s car is on the fritz and my dog is very, very sick. I have a case of beer and need a Yankee victory to lift my spirits.
This should be interesting.
GO YANKEES!!!!

Way to go Yankees…1st and 2nd with no outs…#3, #4 and #5 hitters…fail.
Jesus Christ we are fucking terrible. It is sickening.
Now let’s see how many Freddy can give up in the 1st???
LET’S GO YANKEES!!!! The worst team $200 million can buy baby!!!
3 months until hockey.

Here we go again…0-1.
I turned off the game after 1 last night, looks like we are heading down the same path.
We are fucking terrible. This team is a joke. Straight up.

The Sox may win the East by double-digits…unless the Rays catch fire. More likely their shit stadium does though so the Sox are good.

Well, Freddy got out of the 1st only giving up 1 run…that’s a fucking miracle.
Let’s see the bottom of our mighty order do something…ha.

What does a manager think in a situation like this? He has to see that his pitcher is awful. Is he just like “well, such is life, gotta grin and bear it and see what happens”, or is he thinking “this sucks”, some combination?
Miller only gives up the one run, but what a laborious, painful inning to view.

4 runners stranded in 2 innings so far…1-for-5 with RISP by my count…man we are good. I mean NOT good. ZERO chance of winning in the playoffs, if we even make it.

No. Probably appealing as usual.
Miller is terrible tonight. It was clear in the first that he would give up a bundle of runs. Has a manager ever just taken a guy out early and BEFORE he shit the bed? That would be novel. You would think that at least once some enterprising manager would think “this will not end well” and take action before it didn’t end well. Alas this is not the night.

Really can’t figure out what Francona is waiting for. The three run deficit can be overcome, it’s only the third. Miller is one bad pitch away from a six run deficit, Elliot Johnson missed a three run jack by inches.
It’s not like the extra batter or two is going to kill the pen, it’s only the third inning and Miller ain’t going five, even, the way he is pitching.

Wrong. Francona still on his ass. Waiting for an even bigger deficit.
I really don’t get this. Either you are trying to keep your team in the game or not. But in the third inning trying to squeeze two extra batters out of your pitcher is irrelevant. Either make the move or leave this guy in for 120 pitches and save everyone. But why wait until it’s 7 or 8-2 just a couple of batters later.
Now ANOTHER walk. And Francona comes out. Honestly, this is moronic managing.

As I was typing…another double…1-2. FUCK THIS BULLSHIT. I’m done. I have better things to do on a Friday night then watch this PATHETIC FUCKING GARBAGE TEAM lose YET ANOTHER FUCKING GAME.
FUCK YOU YANKEES!!!!

Walking in a run wasn’t what he came in for. But still, can Aceves pitch four innings each day? If Lackey is his usual self tomorrow and Beckett’s knee acts up again on Sunday we may need him to.

Has Tito ever taken out a starter when he looks like he may shit the bed?, not that I recall. He has a tendency to see if starters can work their way out of t, something about trying to make sure their confidence doesn’t get shot or something.

Millwood left tonight’s PawSox start with a 3-1 lead, if holds he will be 9-0 in AAA, do they bring home up to take Miller’s next star? Or does he deserve another start based on what he did leading up to tonight’s suckfest?

A-Gon loses the ball in the tropicana roof and misses the foul pop-up, next pitch a double…then the next hitter hits a grounder to 1st and Adrian throws the runner out at third.

The free fall begins…ala last year. As opposed to every year I can remember where we dominated the 2nd half of the season.
This team is FINISHED. Like always, when the ownership group is running things we are FUCKED. I don’t even blame Cash. It’s clear after the Soriano failure, I mean signing, that he has little to no power.
We are a FUCKING JOKE!!!!
