Back to School Special: Yanks-Royals Gamer I

Summer ends tomorrow, but the Yanks kick off what should be an exciting fall season tonight in Kansas City with their division in hand and league-leading Detroit in their crosshairs. Alex Rodriguez, erstwhile k-machine and boo magnet, is hotter than an afternoon in Falluja, and only slightly less dangerous. Presumptive-MVP Derek Jeter is continuing his assault on the batting title lead and its temporary custodian, Joe Mauer. On the mound, Chien-Ming Wang is defying those who claim he has pitched beyond his limit. Lesson of the day for the Royals and the rest of MLB: tangle with a predator at your peril.

  • Wow, YF, using a man’s premature death to highlight one of your special Yankees. What’s next, making fun of Jon Lester’s cancer?

  • Well SF,
Yyou have to admit…in the case of Irwin…you kind of expected it.

  • In lieu of a competitive Sox team, seems like SF is taking out his frustrations on YF!

  • Jeter almost makes a fantastic play to get Gathright but Joey is too speedy.

  • VERY late time called there. I thought Wang was already going into his delivery.
Then Jorge nails Gathright trying commit larceny.
