One of the benefits of the Astros failing in the NLCS (and I am not sure there are any other benefits, seeing as the Cardinals are much more formidable) is that we are spared the false Boston-Texas political/baseball comparisons. These would only have been appropriate, in any case, had the phony Texan George W. Bush actually been raised in Texas (and even if you are willing to give him this he’d have to be able to remember the drunk years he spent in Midland during his 30s) and not at Andover, Harvard, Kennebunkport, and in the blueblood counties of lovely Connecticut. On the other hand, we might still have to hear John Kerry tout the slugging prowess of “Manny Ortez”, or, potentially worse, the pitching efficacy of Bronson Pinchot…

Bush or Kerry, God help us?
Bush, idiot or crook?
Kerry, can we know what you stand for and believe in? Please?
Anyway, Go Cards :)
I can’t believe you’re dragging Balki into this.
