“Buh-Bye, Fox” Say the Sox: Yanks-Sox Gamer II

Sabathia takes on Lester as McCarver (I imagine) butchers one more Red Sox broadcast (hopefully he’ll get his shot at ruining the ALCS/WS for them, too…the Yanks are on FOX next weekend too, bwahaha). Both teams in this tilt will keep an eye on the Rays/Twins game this evening/afternoon as well, though with different levels of urgency. Comment away.

  • Way too many bunts to my liking already.

But Papi’s double brings home Pedroia. 2-0 Red Sox.

  • Foxidiots seriously thinking Buck Showalter is seriously in the mix for manager of the year?

  • Regarding MOY: Showalter will get fired – again – soon, and will end up in the booth next to one of them they hope, instead of supplanting them.

  • So today Morales is trustworthy with a four run lead?

  • Game over in less than three hours. Not meaning to offend anybody, but that looked almost routine.

Of course with all the Yankees had to put up with this season, still being in the wildcard race is just as respectable as what the Red Sox have accomplished so far.

But I’ll be looking for a broom tomorrow.

  • The Sox are a better team in just about every facet of the game. Maybe you can give an edge to the Yanks in a position or two, but that’s grasping. For the Sox to have lost to this Yankees roster today would not have been an interesting thing, but only a curious aberration.

  • 4-game Rangers-Rays set this week with Cleveland right on their heels. I just can’t muster mmych anger at the Yanks for this season. I’m impressed that they’re still in this. The injuries gave been bad enough, but to have CC’s worst ever season on top of that and lug their negative run differential into meaningful late September games really is an accomplishment. With some luck they might still squeeze in but the edge has to go to Cleveland looking at the schedules. Would be amazing if Texas blows this a second year in a row.
