Come on, Let’s Make This Happen Again: Mariners-Sox Gamer IV

Seattle manager John McLaren lost it a couple of days ago after another defeat for his Mariners.  Hopefully the Sox can push this guy further down the crazy hole with a win tonight – who doesn’t love this stuff from crusty semi-flattopped-old-school-looking cooters?  The only thing missing was McLaren banging his shoe on the table.

The streaking Sox send reclamation project Bartolo Colon to the hill against King Felix (and we all know well the King did in Fenway last year, right?).  Coco Crisp leads off (he’s been suspended for seven games but will surely appeal, giving him the chance to play while Jacoby Ellsbury nurses his sore wrist), and Brandon Moss takes over left for our missing speedster.  No Manny, either.  Wonderful.  Lineups to come when available.

Comment away!

1 Coco Crisp, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. J.D. Drew, RF
4. Mike Lowell, 3B
5. Kevin Youkilis, 1B
6. Sean Casey, DH
7. Jason Varitek, C
8. Brandon Moss, LF
9. Julio Lugo, SS

  • I like his metaphor for his team – “we’ve gotta f*cking buckle it up and get after it”, as if the Mariners are a couple of cops getting into their squad car to chase a mugger.
I can’t stop watching this video.

Me neither.. I’ve viewed it six times already. *tightly* *controlled* *builDING* *RAGE* *ANGRY* *DAMN IT*
McClaren strikes me as a hospital corners sort of man. To watch him get wound up is just plain fun.

  • Nice effort, team. Three errors and like 7 LOB thru three innings? Great.
    Due for a stinker, though.
Anyone else think it’s a miracle that the Yankees might only be four back in the loss column after tonight? How is that even possible?

  • Our leadoff hitter tonight has an OBP of .308 and our #2 hitter has an OBP of .318. That’s really bad.
Someone take Pedroia out back and scream at the kid. Or someone take Magadan out back and order him to watch every single game tape from last year and figure out what’s going on, he’s not good right now, at all.

  • I can’t get gameday or mlbRadio.com working. The game seems to be sucking so I guess the cell phone updates are about all I can stomach

ESPN article on the Youk/Manny blow-up. Seems the players don’t like his antics after a bad at bat, clubhouse sources say they have told him to knock it off.
This is interesting since I’ve always taken it as he is pissed at himself for NOT helping the team in his at bats.

  • I’ve been watching the Sox fight video blow by blow like it’s the Zapruder film.
It’s almost as entertaining as the Malice in the Palace video with the Detroit Pistons from a few years back.
