Cookin’ a Needed Win

Sheff delivers again. The final course: a two-out, two-run homerun in the top of the ninth off a tough pitch by Wickman. This guy is humiliating A-Rod in the value department. Even though Quantrill pitched two scoreless innings, he got hit hard again and still looks very hittable. This Yank fan is eagerly awaiting Karsay’s return in two weeks. A very nice win however.

  • I’ve been reading Olney’s book, and I just read the infamous quote A-Rod gave about Jeter, about how he can “he can just relax and have fun” etc. due to the quality of his teammates.
So now what exactly is A-Rod’s excuse? I don’t think he’ll be comfortable as a Yankee for awhile now, it took Roger about a year and a half, and some guys never seem to totally fit.
Anyway, it’d be nice if someone besides Sheff could win a games for us, but the main thing is they won.

  • A-Rod has no excuse for not being a clutch hitter this year. A-Rod has been producing big numbers, and his defense and base running have been suberb, but the Yanks need timely big hits out of him if we’re going to go for the title.
