Crouching Tiger, Slouching Bomber: Les Tigres-Yanks Gamer II

We’re on a rain delay, which gave me enough time to throw together a quick gamer now that I left work, not that I am incredibly enthused about authoring gamers after the last few debacles. And Melky is on the bench, which does not improve my mood. It’s Andy Pettitte versus Nate Robertson. Lineups follow, comment away..

  • The fearsome Cameron Maybin strikes out feebly on an 86mph slider. Good start for Pettitte.

  • Crowd goes crazy as Sheff pops it up for the last out of the inning. Sheff did a lot for this team when he was here, and I appreciate that (I loved watching him hit), but his inauspicious exit from the team and his comments about Joe Torre deserves him every single boo he hears.

  • Derek Jeter, you have been in the middle of nothing good recently.
Swinging at the FIRST PITCH, just when the guy in front of you gets walked? That’s just idiotic.

  • Andrew, I would like it better if there was no reaction to him at all. Boos are as much of a validation as cheers. Silence would be sweet, because that seems to be the one thing he cannot abide.

  • Should’ve got more, but they get 2. Yanks 2-1 end of 3rd.

  • Andy gets them 1-2-3. Going to the bottom of the 4th.

  • HR Giambi! 3-1 Yanks.

  • And people say Giambi’s a cancer. HAH!
Gagne blows the save, his third in, I think, 5 chances.
So far, Theo and Gagne cost the Red Sox 2 wins, will it be 3?

  • Meanwhile, as an aside, Brandon Webb pitches his 42nd consecutive scoreless inning by pitching a 2-hitter against the Atlanta Braves.
Holy crap. He’ll be giving Jake Peavy a run for his money for the Cy Young, I feel.

  • God, these threads are always so deserted.

  • Sorry gentlemen, joining the party late. Went out for Happy Hour and it kind of turned into Happy Evening. Haven’t missed any of the game though, thankfully.
