Doing Time: State of The Nation and Universal Reckoning to Follow

The Jays laundered money for Loria, Tigers hunted Toriis, and all is quiet – for now – at two significant stops nearby I95. I don’t see much reason to get worked up at this point. The stove’s barely warm, and what wood that has been tossed in is mostly spent.

  • This has nothing to do with the original post. I just thought you Yank fans would enjoy this from the Chicago Tribune. Pretty cool stuff.,0,341532.photogallery
By the way, Joe DiMaggio was not a handsome man. Pretty geeky, actually. Just goes to show that looks ain’t everything. (And I’m not sure how I’d react if someone took photos of me eating soup.)

  • On the original post, it’s early. It’s November. Let it play out before we have a heart attack.
I don’t really like Reyes because it seems he’s always hurt. Johnson is coming off a down year after surgery. And Beuhrle, well, I would have taken him for the No. 5 slot. Always been a fan.
So I’m skeptical if this will be much of a game-changer for Anthopolous.
Love Torii Hunter, but it was unrealistic to expect he’d go to a rebuilding team. And he’s 37.
So I don’t see this deal as being a death knell for the Sox.
I don’t really want Hamilton, and I don’t expect he’ll be signing with the Sox.
What I’m waiting to see are the acquisitions of the Loretta, Damon, Mueller and Bellhorn types that will fly under the radar but solidify the foundation. Professional baseball players, please.
We have time. It’s not even Thanksgiving. The fingerprints haven’t yet been wiped off the World Series trophy.

  • Thanks for the link, IBM.

No, he wasn’t handsome. But damn it if Joe D didn’t know how to wear a suit.

  • I have no fear of the Jays. All Toronto teams are garbage…see the sorry Leafs as an example.

Plus, that turf is going to destroy Reyes fragile body. And welcome to a real division Mark and Josh.

You guys just wait until next season. I have turned over some serious leaves over the past few months. My fandom has been renewed, refreshed if you will. Some SERIOUS positivity is coming in ’13. Bank on it.
