I had a chance, 10 or so years ago, to get an autographed baseball. We shared a mutual friend. But I blew it and never followed up. One of my big regrets. The tribute tonight at Fenway should be terrific. If you’ve never read it, do so: http://www.amazon.com/Teammates-Portrait-Friendship-David-Halberstam/dp/140130057X Worth the read, even to you YFs. Or course, everything by Halberstam is worth the read. I can’t imagine the pride the parents of Dominic, Joe and Vince must have felt. Timing. Dommy’s death has only reminded me of my youth, when baseball was prefect. Dom D was a terrific player and a class act. Comments are closed.
