  • AP’s 50-50 misremembering isn’t necessarily a death blow to the Fed’s case. But it doesn’t help.
MacNamee is less credible, but that won’t make him easier to impeach than AP.
We’ve won many criminal cases with complete scumbags in the role of the star witness.
And remember, the Feds don’t go to trial unless they’re almost certain they’ll win.

  • More midday news: Will Middlebrooks has been called up. He’s on the 40-man. No clue whether he’ll be activated or whether he starts tonight.
    No word on corresponding moves.
Aaron Cook is expected to be activated by Friday.

  • I am staggered by the amount of time and energy dedicated to the Clemens/Bonds cases. Does the government really want to try to solve a serious problem? Help figure out what the FUCK is systemically destroying so many ex-NFL players. Junior Seau dead by suicide at 43.
