Early X-Mass for Bernie, Mo

Bernie won’t have Kenny Lofton nipping at his heels any longer (granted, he’s likely to have stiffer competition); Kenny’s now a Philly, and the Yanks have have added Felix Rodriguez to their pen, news that should bring a big smile to Mariano Rivera and concern to the BoSox (lefties only hit .192 off our new Rod last year).

What does this deal mean for the rest of the Yankee bullpen? Who is expendable? That other Felix (Heredia) is surely a goner (for Stanton?). Is Steve Kline still an option? Is Quantrill safe? Can Gordon be packaged for the Unit? Read those tea leaves….

  • Please, Santa, let it be Gordon who’s packaged off to the DBax or the Land of Lost Children or your workshop at the North Pole or anywhere. We’ll take Donner or Blitzen in return, straight up. Just get that nervous Nellie the hell away from the Bronx, please.

  • No sooner do we write it than it’s done: Stanton for Heredia now a done deal, say the Yanks. Welcome back Mike.

  • Welcome back, indeed. Bring back more aging pitchers making 3 million a year! Also, it should be noted that the Yankees sent an additional 1.5M to the Phils just to get rid of Lofton – nice signing, Cash.
