Sox line-up tonight, courtesy of Sean McAdam Tweet: Ellsbury CF; Pedroia 2B; Gonzalez 1B; Ortiz DH; Lowrie 3B; Drew RF; Crawford LF; Saltalamacchia C; Scutaro SS; Lester SP
Why not switch Carl and JD?
Yanks game already rained out. Blah
So no Youk? Regular day off or serious injury?
We’re racking up the rainouts, eh?
Lester Ks the side in the first on 13 pitches.
I hope Lester has a great start if for no other reason than this ridiculous catcher ERA comparison between Saltalamacchia and Varitek will stop.
Youks is out for precautionary reasons, but the injury isn’t serious, and according to Obie, he could pinch-hit tonight and is expected to start tomorrow.
Haren needs 25 pitches to get six outs.
This could be a very quick pitchers’ duel.
Rondo with 20 assists tonight. When he’s at 12+ assists, that’s when the Celtics are unbeatable.
First run: Salty w/ 1-out double, Scutaro flyout, Salty to third, Ells RBI double.
Scioscia then went to the mound and apparently chewed out Haren.
Scioscia apparently trying to get tossed.
Abreau F8, to end a 2nd/3rd threat, but Lester already at 65 pitches through 3.
Bourjos steals a double from Gonzo. That kid can really go get ’em.
God got even with Bourjos. Crawford with a shoulda-beena F8, Bourjos drops it with Hunter, Kendrick converging. 2 runs score. E8. No RBI. 3-0.
Love to see Carl steal here.
Worked Haren that inning.
I am about to snooze though…
Lester now at 99 pitches, but he’s been good. 0 R, 4H through 5. Probably only 6 from Lester tonight. And pen was taxed last night.
Jed triples leading off the 6th.
Check that. Double, E7.
RBI single for JD. 4-0.
Lester could go two more if he gets quick outs, but I fully expect the 6th to be his last.
I doubt we’ll get one more from Lester. But we’ll see.
Reports of tornado damage at St. louis Lambert Int Airport tonight.
Love to see Gonzo go deep here.
Nope. A K.
Albers is on for Lester.
Pap warming up to go in for his 3rd night in a row. He was good but not great last night. A little worried with a one-run lead.
1 down on the fly to center.
Single, then flyout. Kendrick up (again, as in like last night) with the game on the line.
Wow, I really prefer it when Papelbon strikes out guys on 3 pitches instead of 9.
