Alex Rodriguez is getting far more ink than makes any sense whatsoever. What really matters tonight is what kind of game will Hiroki Kuroda bring to the mound for the Bombers as the Yankees host the Orioles tonight in the Bronx. None of the lineup juggling, kvetching, re-gauging, reminiscing and regretting will change the fact that the Yankee’s best hitters in the series could just as easily O-fer as ARod and Swisher might break out and hit bombs. What Kuroda does tonight is far more important. If he can continue the work of Sabathia and Pettitte in keeping the Orioles offense impotent, the Yankees will overcome Miguel Gonzalez or the pen that follows. Comment away.
I’m in the house. I carry the YFSF banner…or at least half of it. Beauttiful nightt. Big buzz.
Damn.
JETER!!!
Don’t give them the lead right back Hiroki…
If Hiroki can go 2 more without giving up any more that would be just fine. If we can’t score 2+ att home vs. these guys, screw it
You cannot ask Kuroda for more than this. Come on!!!!
Once again…the pitching is solid.
I have no confidence in the bats. None.
ARod should take his own life.
(Not really)
We have had 3 v strong starts from the pitchers as well as solid bullpen work butt one single strong offensive inning. Story if the ALDS so far.
Granderson. I can’t even watch him anymore.
Yankee pitching staff to Yankee bats: “is anyone home???”
There is no excuse for this…none.
3 runs in 2 games. Hughes going tomorrow?
Another first round choke job as expected.
This team needs major changes.
I am watching, perplexed, that this roster can perform so poorly at the plate.
Jeter can’t even walk and he’s still battling…FUCK the rest of these pathetic losers.
Jeter really favoring that left ankle/foot.
Now they pulled Jeter for Nix. You know he’s dying for them to pull him
Kuroda’s going to go complete, give up 2 earned, and get a loss. How wrong was I in the concept of this game thread, and of the Yankees lineup.
Hiroki was awesome.
I feel sick. I knew we sucked, but I was really hoping I was just being my normal stupid self.
My pessimism is validated. Again.
Or not go complete. But whatever, great performance.
Our pitching sttaff came to play.
An A-Rod bomb redeems all. Until tomorrow of course…
Pinch hittting for A-Rod. WOW.
Unreal. Ibanez must have gone down to the crossroads.
Too many words to type. That was epic on so many fronts. But we NEED one more.
On the megatron A-Rod looked depressed after the home run. I kid u not.
First to greet Ibanez though.
The O’s are the only team since 1900 to not lose a walk-off game for an entire season?!?!? How many absurd sttreaks do they have going!?!?
Kurtis is FUCKING WORTHLESS!!!!
We need dominant Robertson.
I’m still trying to comprehend the awesomeness of Raul Ibanez.
Too quick for Matusz. How he became so dominant after sucking as a starter……..one more inning Robertson. Then we’re into Lowe territory.
I don’t believe what I justt saew.
Oh, and I love you Joe Girardi.
Epic.
I guess the O’s are now 75-1 when leading after 7 innings. The Raahh-oooooooooouuuuuullll!!!!! Chants continue to rise all over the streets outtside the stadium
:-)
Make that 76-1…
That was incredible.
Raul is so clutch.
What becomes of ARod now?
> What becomes of ARod
I’m hoping for a two-run shot in the first.
A-Rod remains in the line-up, likely batting 3rd but perhaps as low as 6th. I very mugh hope that Gardner is slotted into CF for Granderson for the night. And like ag, I hope with this pinprick of the balloon called “can A-Rod be bumped and if so, will he react badly”, he can go on and work out of the slump he’s in. To be honest, he has had some v good ABs. Better than Granderson. But his swing is still too long. Hopefully he can shorten it a bbit and get on track tonight.
Looks like it’s gonna be a heck of a series comeback for the Giants, with a 6-run inning to go up 6-0 over the Reds in the 5th. If it holds, the road team will have won every game.
Pulling for the A’s and Nats today. Though rooting for ANYONE has not gone well this year.
Giants finally close the door 6-4. Tying run was up like 4 innings in a row or something, winning run was up with 1 out in 9th.
