Bag of balls? Kyle Farnsworth? Bag of balls? Kyle Farnsworth?
Kyle Farnsworth!
The Yanks’ brain-trust used advanced metrics for this one, and Kyle lives another day. Who will he alienate tonight? How many hits will he give up in his 1 (or 2/3 or 1/3, or 0/3) inning of work?
Let’s hope he doesn’t pitch tonight, or in any meaningful inning again this season.
Speaking of tonight, the Yanks are playing the White Sox at the Stadium. Mussina battles the awful former Yank, Jose Conteras. Johnny Damon got a hit in his first at bat. Things are looking up. Go Yanks!
Bobby hits a three-run homer to start it off.
Ah, good start for once, against the light hitting (knock on wood) Sox. Finally got a chance to check in..
The knock on wood didn’t work as Urbie proceed to smash a 3 run HR. 4-3 Yanks. C’mon Moose!
Oh ya, Moose now 38 pitches after 2. Though if he keeps pitching like this, pitch counts won’t matter..
The Yanks go down 1-2-3 as Contreras only at 44 pitches. Goo Yanks!
Alright, me outs of work. Go Yanks!
That was a f’ing laser Robbie just hit.
Damn, Melky just hit one too. Right down the LF line.
will arod be the only yankee not to hit a homer tonight?
HOLY COW!!!! Godzilla has 13 home runs in July. Awesome! Always nice to make people pitch to A-Rod.
How bout all those flashbulbs on that last ab for alex! looks like the turn of y2k on the manhattan skyline.
great post gerb.
And look here–it’s the man of the hour! Farnsy for the 7th in a blowout.
And the pride of abraham baldwin agricultural college throws a clean 7th. hallelujah.
it’s like he read my post and took it personally. Tough love works!
it’s a beat down. upper deck for johnny. 15.
8 homers! Wow! An all-time Yanks record!!!
Shelley Duncan for HR #8!!!! A Yankee record!!!!!!!!
But Alex still on the schneid, and here he is…..
AND HE LINES OUT TO CENTER!! Crap. What is this, 2006?
at this point, I’d be surprised if Hideki doesn’t hit one again.
YF – if it was 2006 he would’ve hit a HR. Because it would’ve been a meaningless run. =)
Also, nice to know everyone lost (Sox and Indians), so trade deadline or not, the Yanks can reasonably say they’re in the playoff hunt now.
Matsui is a monster. He hit 2 more home runs tonight. He now has 21 homers despite missing several weeks with injuries. He just might reach 30 hrs before Alex hits his 500th.
yf2k,
If Godzilla hits 9 Jacks before Arod hits 500; I’ll pay you a $100, and the Yankees will be in deep shit.
