Meet Chris Tillman: O’s-Yanks Gamer

The 21-year-old, six-foot-five right-handed rookie for Baltimore who came out of the Mariners organization had an impressive K/9 ratio coming through the minors, but that fell off in the show as his trial by fire in the bigs has yet to see his abilities amount to more than league average. Then again, he is only 21 and has a good fastball as well as a plus-curve and a decent change.

Tillman faces the Yankees for the first time, while the Remarkable Mr. Pettitte goes for New York. Andy has won four straight (though the first of those four was a clown game against Boston). Pettitte is on pace for another 200+ inning season as well as another 15-ish wins. Good on you, Andy.

It’s a lefty/switch-heavy lineup with Damon as another lefty coming off the bench against the young righty. Lineups follow, comment away.

Carbon-copy of the record-tying hit two nights ago. And it comes after A-Rod got the Yanks out in front with a 3-run bomb in the 1st.

Pettitte looking OK though not as strong as in recent starts. And Gardner slides into first barely safe.

Pettitte induces a bases loaded 1-out groundout back to him and gets the out at home only to bean Mora in the next AB to bring in a run. 2 outs, bases loaded…

Cano ranges a mile to his left (yes, his left) to field the grounder and get the force at first to end the inning. Yanks up 4-3 and Pettitte is seriously scuffling.
