Moose: Get well soon!

  • Two game swing! With the Sox winning and the Yanks losing, it looked like Yanks lead would be trimmed to 7, but thanks to Toby Hall, Sheff, Mo, A-Rod, and Olerud’s D we’re back up by 9.

  • Yanks fans shouldn’t get too excited about regular season late-game heroics. If the last two nights were any indication, the starting pitching remains as inconsistent as hell, with Lieber and Loaiza cracking 5.00 on the ERA chart. They simply won’t be able to come back like they do in the regular season, as they will be facing (up to) 3 playoff caliber bullpens. The Yankees are severely flawed in a major way, despite their record, and last night actually reveals, not hides, the flaw. As for the Sox, we see their flaws every day…

  • I disagree about the post-season. If moose comes back healthy, and Brown continues to be ok, with Vazquez you have 3 top pitchers. Add in elDuke and the starting rotation should be excellent. If they can get 6 or 7 innings the combination of Quantrrl/Gordon/Rivera should be able to close it out. So, the rotation looks to me to be well poised for the post season, if less so for the remainder of the regular season with Lieber and Loaiza. They should be non-issues in the post season.
