Mariano Rivera is exactly one week older than me, and I'm not sure what's more troubling; the thought that my own 39-year-old body is so damned decrepit, or that his age-defiance can't last forever. A few months ago we took some time here to talk about Mo's beautiful delivery. Over on Bronx Banter, Alex Belth, Andrew McCarron and I chat some more about the Great One who wears 42 for the Yanks.

Mo shall throw until he can’t. To be “that guy” that got a hit off of Mariano Rivera….
It’s amazing to think that if Mo played for a team that scored fewer runs (like, say, the San Diego Padres), and thus had far more save opportunities, he would probably be around 600 saves right now. I’ve said it before, but I have the utmost respect for Mo and his talent.
Speaking of pitchers, I see that the Sox have signed Tazawa: http://tinyurl.com/5mluur
PS Sorry for not being around in ages.
