There will be no reunions for Roger Clemens in NY or Boston this year, no tipping the scales of the AL East race to his places of erstwhile glory. According to Newsday (nice scoop!) the Rocket has re-upped with Houston, and for roughly $3.5 million/month. Just as we predicted in our brief moment of radio glory.

BFD. His numbers last year were NL influenced. I don’t think he would be all that effective in the AL. 10 mil for 3 months? No thanks.
I am not with Tom on this one. Replace a “t” with an “s” and the Sox rotation looks that much stronger, even considering AL-inflation.
As for Newsday, didn’t they once report on a Yankees sweep of the Sox during the 2004 playoffs and print the paper as such? Can we get a corroborating source, please?

the Astros GM denies the signing. Are the Hendricks brothers working people for more $$$?
SF:
The Houston Chronicle recently posted that the Astros owner said they are still waiting for an answer.
MSNBC decided to run with it though they quote an Astros representative as calling the report “premature.”
What Tom said. IIRC he didn’t do so hot in the WS, against a White Sox offense that wasn’t exactly blazing. Shudder to think how he’d do against Yanks/Sox/Jays. No thanks, he can stay in Houston.
