I often think I should give up blogging and join the baseball media. Maybe I will, someday. The idea does have its merits. But on nights like last night, I’m glad to be a blogger. When your team is down, and things seem like they couldn’t get worse, and then, somehow, the impossible starts to feel possible. We all know the feeling. You sit there kneading your hands and hoping and pleading to the gods and then BAM!!!!! When Damon took Westbrook deep, I jumped out of my seat and started dancing around the room. I was shouting “YEAH!” My wife was cheering, and my 20-month-old daughter was giggling and saying “Mah! Mah! Mah!” That translates to “More! More! More!” She may not have understood what was going on in the game—though I wouldn’t put anything past her—but she could certainly see how happy mom and dad had become, and she didn’t want the joy we were all sharing to end. I couldn’t agree more. MAH!
