Now Warming Up for the Boston Red Sox

Well, this should get sports talk radio through to Monday's Jets-Patriots game:

The Red Sox offered reliever Mariano Rivera a two-year, $30 million deal and were prepared to non-tender closer Jonathan Papelbon, according to a baseball source with direct knowledge of the negotiations.

Paul, it’s like you got a new computer or something, man. :)
Something stinks here, and if true, the arbitration process with Papelbon must already be a pain in the ass. Or, like I said before, this is just Theo and Co. forcing Cashman to do more than he wanted to. Though, to be fair, those are the numbers that have been mentioned for a week now with re: to Mariano.

Plus, I’m always a little sketchy of the ever famous “baseball source with direct knowledge of the negotiations” guy.
He gets around a lot!

God would this have been such a great move, unless you believe in tempting karma and what a switch to the Sox would have meant. The only Yankee I could ever see myself rooting for, of all of them, EVER, is Mo.
