The Red Sox finish their series against the Blue Jays today with Jon Lester on the mound facing Henderson Alvarez. Ellsbury is back in the lineup as is Aviles. Comment away.

Ooops.. broke the permalink for this thread. Sorry. Not like anyone can say anything about Jon Lester that will help his sorry state of affairs.
The question is: does Lester have options? Though Pawtucket obviously has done Daniel Bard a fat lot of good so far …
A four-run deficit in the sixth can be overcome, of course, but I doubt it. Wonder why the Blue Jays always roll over for the Yankees and then come back from the dead against the Sox.
How come Tazawa can get these guys out, but Lester can’t. Is playing hurt, is he tipping his pitches, does he have chicken pox?
Melancon channelling Lester. There goes the game …
Assuming Aceves will not have any games to save on the upcoming road trip to Texas and New York B.V. brings him into a 15-7 game.
Aceves keeps the deficit at eight. The comeback should be a piece of cake now …
Especially with Nick Punto coming up in the bottom of the ninth!
Surprisingly the Blue Jays do not bring in their closer.
I know the wild card is still in reach … but more fittingly: Wait till next year!
Agreed, pbe.
This weekend epitomizes why the Sox are in last place and .500…Beckett and Lester can’t pitch for shit this year.
Just to be completely self-indulgent…ag’s title makes me think of the Pink Floyd album Animals, and thereby one of my favorite songs “Sheep”. The Sox’ season seems well-summed to me by the first couple lines of lyrics in that song:
“Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away
Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air…”
> Pink Floyd album Animals
Haha.. funny. I went to a Pig roast this weekend. Must have been my subconscious messing with the titles.
