One Last Time: Brewers-Sox Gamer I

Boy, 2013 sure was a time, wasn’t it? Most everyone thought the Sox would fail, and instead they achieved ultimate success. Haha, haters. Today, they get the rings to show for it when Estrada faces Peavy.

But more importantly, it’s the home opener (NL opponent in home opener, so awkward), and we get to see Fenway Park, even it’s from a nation away.

  • Guess who’s checking out the Sawx game…this guy!

Congrats on the Ring! If there is one thing that motivates the folks in the Bronx, it’s another Ring being handed out in Fenway! Well deserved. Had to be a fun team to root for…

  • Certainly my favorite season as a fan, k-man. I imagine for most SFs, that’s 2004, but considering my personal history with the team and the expectations and personalities of the 2013 season…I loved 2013 the most. The only thing I’d want out of a season that we didn’t get is 100 wins (someday!). But they probably won’t win the Series even if that happens, so 2013 is to be treasured. Or, you know, abhorred, depending on your bent.

  • Peavy strikes out the side, getting around a 1-out triple.

  • Sox have 2 hits to Milwaukee’s 5, but both Boston hits drove in runs and the score is tied at 2 after 3.5.

  • Peavy’s been working out of jams all day, escapes an error (Bogaerts) and a walk to start the 6th, still tied. I haven’t been watching, but seems like he’s been a bit more lucky than good today.

  • Still tied in the 9th. Brewers with runners at the corners, none out. Fairly likely loss today. Booo.

  • Yep, Overbay drives in 2 on the double, goes to 3rd on the throw. Oof.

  • They were that lunch pail team with the beards and all that stuff…kinda like the idiots were and man Papi was the man again. Papi has to be the greatest RS of all-time now. Even more than Teddie.
